April 2019
Let’s start easy with the season of sweet scents and fresh blooms; of new beginnings and hopeful possibilities. It’s the time to bring out your favourite floral pieces and feminine frocks and add a little bit of blush on the cheeks just to match with the pinks of the flowers!
With all the blooming flowers, it’s inevidently a season that’s a little more romantic and casual; but floral options don’t always have to be for casual days and date nights. Just pick floral pieces with a modest silhouette or a dark base colour so you can still rock the sweet floral look even on work days.
Hot out and cold in? It may be practical to wear as light as possible, but don’t forget to bring along a sweater because when your body heats up under the sun, you will feel even colder when you hop into an air-conditioned place.
Brush on some bronzer and look sun-kissed! Rompers make a great piece for a fun day at the beach; for it’s casual playfulness and also it’s practical wearability when you are out and about! If thin straps are not your thing, sleeveless pieces are you next best choice under this merciless heat!
Since the temperature will stay up throughout the year, the only way to dress the cooler season is to dress by colour choice! Reds, orange and brown; match your colour choice with the colours of falling leaves during Autumn and you are good to go!
Going for longer options would also be another way to dress for Autumn! Maxi and midi dresses in light, breathable fabrics will make sure you look warm and cozy without actually feeling it.
Of course, it’s not all reds and browns during Autumn. Muted pastels are also a great colour for the season. It’s a great alternative for those with cooler or tan skin tones that don’t look great in warm reddish colours.
Winter fashion trends that don’t make sense in our tropical island? Nothing to fret, look closer and you’ll see that Winter trends, year after year, tend to be much mellower and darker in its colour choices! Cool tones like white, grey, black and navy are some of the colours to go for; they are classic, wearable and versatile, always a great option for work days too!
That looks warm. Well, its not! Another creative way to rock that Winter chic is to choose textured pieces! By using lighter threads to weave textured fabrics, summer tweed or knit pieces that look really thick and warm are actually really thin and breathable!
Now, when someone tells you there are just limited fashion options in our little tropical paradise, prove them otherwise with your nifty fashion tricks! Go forth and categorise your wardrobe by the seasons!
