The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #EachforEqual, drawn from a notion of 'Collective Individualism.' We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviours and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make change happen. We’ve gathered the voices of women, and men, to share with us, how they have or what other women have done for them that create a ripple in this movement.

Personal Cheerleaders
“She motivates me and grounds me at the same time. The reason I am at where I am today, as a Regional Trainer for Make Up Forever, empowering and enriching more women through my job trainings, couldn’t have happened without my personal cheerleader, my sister, encouraging me to press on and achieve my dreams. By changing one woman’s life, you can change a thousand more.”
“Working as a leader in a male-dominant industry, I constantly make sure I stand my ground and call the shots to get the job done; I have to work doubly hard. At the end of the day, I always look forward to spending time with my sister because she reminds me to wind down, to embrace and find strength in my feminine side as well. I stand by all strong women and strength that knows no gender.”

A dedicated listener and a pillar of support, she has made even the most adverse of times seem overcomeable and manageable; nurturing life lessons that has build the undefeated, strong person I am today. On this special day, we relive our milestones and celebrate the women that was there every step of the way.”

She’s such an inspiration, whether at home or at work, she’s always game for challenges and never gives up; her strength and drive constantly keeps me motivated to strive for my goals as well and for that she has become a pillar in my life. “I am celebrating her - my 4-month old baby girl. We imagine her progressing from a tiny tot to a young, driven and capable woman. Small steps we make today will create what the future will be like, and we want to create a world she’ll live in where women like herself are celebrated not only for her strength and successes but also for her independence in her choices without social discrimination.”

It is the system of girls supporting girls that play a big part in cultivating successful women we have today. As a Senior Designer, I take responsibility not only in getting work done as a team, but to pass on skills to enrich the lives of the other women designers as well.”
“It is motivating and almost moving to be working in an all-female team, we are able to share our milestones and challenges as fellow women, and almost like a sisterhood, we create this strong sense of feminine support in the workplace. I am proud to be part of a community that not only strives to positively impact the lives of individual women but also the culture as a collective whole.”
